My Library... Talks!

My library received a My Library Is... Grant to purchase signage and more display carts for our outdated library space. We also purchased book stands, mobile book display carts, a new felt bulletin board for the wall, new Cricut paper, and sign holders. This grant was vital as most of our library budget is spent on databases, with minimal funds leftover for books and other materials.
The purpose of creating more purposeful advertising and marketing and using signage in our library is to get more books in the hands of students and staff, and to create a more engaging environment through the signage, organization, and displays in the library space. With improved signage and book displays in the library, students are more easily able to find their next favorite book. While the library is not receiving a complete renovation soon, the new signage and display will freshen the space up and make it clear where books are located. In addition, we have planned displays that are interactive for the students.
Our library has been promoting books and materials through a monthly newsletter and Instagram account. Displays have been placed strategically throughout the library in hopes of getting as many student and faculty views as possible.
The Geneva High School library is so appreciative of the generous RAILS My Library Is... Grant. The funds enabled us to create a more engaging, appealing space for students and faculty.
